Cafe Kalimpong presents Nepali Folk evening with Shreedhya Sisters, Adarsh Biswakarm, Biswajit Sewa, Anuj Gurung.

Shreedhya Sisters

Snehshree and Sannidhya Thapa were initially trained in Hindustani Classical Music. While Snehshree went ahead to complete her M.Mus in Hindustani classical music, Sannidhya chose to take western vocals. They come from a family of musicians and consider their parents a source of inspiration.

Bishwajit Sewa

Biswajit is a gold medalist in Tabla from Benaras Hindu University. Under the mentorship of Pt. Praveen Uddhav ( Disciple of Padmashree Pt. Suresh Talvakar) completed his Masters in Indian Classical music from Banaras Hindu University. He is interested in traditional instruments such as Marchunga (Jaw Harp), Djembe Didgeridoo, Ektara Mongolian Throat Singing and other local instruments locally used in Kalimpong. He also experiments with his voice and hands to create new sounds.

Adarsh Biswakarm

Adarsh is a Composer/ Guitarist/ Multi-instrumentalist & Recordist & Arranger. He is a member of bands such as Projectblack, Yeti and The Sailanee Project.

Anuj Gurung

Anuj Gurung is a professional guitar player, music arranger, songwriter and music teacher. He has performed at various festivals such as the Hornbill rock festival, Pinetree and Red panda festival and still. 

This fundraiser event is to support  The Kholey Dai festival, an annual community rice harvest festival that takes place in December, Parengtar, Kalimpong.
